thanks for all the comments about my impending divorce, I appreciate all the advice and support!

I should have mentioned that it’s not my first divorce, first time around I was quite young and married the girl from next door when she got preggers just a few months after we hooked up, it helped that she was pretty darned hot, but after 7 years we just had nothing in common so it kinda came to a natural conclusion. I don’t regret it as we ended up with two awesome kids, who are the best thing in my life.

my second wife is actually from Russia, and although we’ve had a lot of good times together, there are some pretty important things that we just can’t “see eye to eye” on, so there’s no point in ending up hating each other, and we’ve not had kids, so it’s a pretty “amicable” divorce and I hope that we’ll end up being able to be friends at the end of it all..

Yesterday I came across a site that was selling a “product” to help webmasters recover lost traffic from visitors who end up on a non-existant page on their website. I’ve no idea what the price was as I simply didn’t bother reading the sales page, but I guess it was probably $37 or more.

why didn’t I bother reading the sales page?

Simple, all you need to do to make sure visitors don’t end up on a error page from a page that doesn’t exist is to use a “404.shtml” page.

Of course it’s only simple if you know what to put in the 404 page, well I’ve uploaded a copy of the file that I use for you to grab here:

you know by now how obsessed I am about finding new sources of easy and good quality backlinks to my sites right?

it’s one of my favorite “passtimes” online as I know whenever I find a cool new linking tool I can use it to increase the backlinks to my sites and get more targeted visitors to your sites.

and more targeted visitors = more sales = more cash for beer..

and I really do seem to be having one of those awesome weeks this week, a few days ago a guy called Dave Kelly who I met just over two years ago got in touch to see if I’d like to check out his new  backlinks system.

Of course I said yes!

I’m still reading my copy of this book, it’s not exactly lightweight at 110 pages, which is a lot more than other $7 books I’ve read, and there’s a LOT of real useful info in here, including:

• Using articles to get traffic, which is one of my favorite techniques as it works so well, including how to write aritcles quickly, how to make sure you get the reader to click through to your site, and where to submit them for the maximum exposure

I often get asked what software I use to build websites, but the reply isn’t very useful for most people…

why?

well, for the last 6 years or so I’ve used Dreamweaver, which is an excellent tool for building websites, but it’s not cheap!

If you’re just starting out building site, then forking out several hundred bucks for Dreamweaver isn’t what you want to do.

How To Use Your New Pagerank

I’m still recovering from my short “holiday” in Poland, where I not only managed to “lose” my mobile phone, but we also missed our return flight (by 5 hours) as the flight time had been moved without our realizing…
doh!

We ended up getting standby places on a flight to another UK airport and hiring a car to drive back to our original airport to then drive home, which made it a looong day!

Google have finally (after 6 months) done a PR update this weekend.

There are a lot varying opinions on it being posted in SEO forums and Google do seem to have penalised some (previously) high PR sites that are known to sell text links.

So what’s my opinion on this PR update?

I had plans to spend most of this weekend sitting in front of the TV, being Lazy, and catching up on a bunch of Hero’s episodes that I’ve been saving up to watch in one go, but my plan went out of the window…

why?

well I picked up a new report on Friday night and have spent half the weekend reading it and making notes, I couldn’t put the damn thing down!
