I love using WordPress for building sites, it’s very easy to set up and there are endless plugins and themes to give it the most possible flexibility, but…
the ONE thing that WordPress really isn’t good with is adding videos!
If you’ve tried adding videos you’ll know what I mean.
for example if you simply grab the embed code from a YouTube video and pop it in to the post in visual mode it will simply dissappear, you need to swap across to html mode, and even then if you go back to visual mode it will vanish again…
it can be more than a little frustrating!
then there’s your own videos, one’s that you don’t want to put on YouTube, maybe you have them on amazons3 or other hosting of your own, then you’ll need a player for the video (and s3 “bucket” integration if on Amazon3s), there is NO easy way of doing any of this with just WP, unless you have the right plugin…

I’d start with blogging, not just one, but a bunch of niche blogs.
